The members of this
association are in the business of providing emergency and
routine mobile food and shower services to Federal and State
Governmental Agencies, and Private Enterprises throughout the
United States. Every
member has a contract with the Federal Government through the
United States Forest Service and meet all the stringent
requirements established by the government for feeding and
showering wildland firefighters. This contract has provisions for
providing services to other Federal and State agencies through
the National Interagency Fire Center.
The members have also contracted or subcontracted
directly with Federal and State agencies, such as FEMA and the
National Guard. Private
Enterprise activities include Motion Picture sets, Bike rallies
and bikathons, remote construction sites, strikes and many
others.
The member companies have
developed expertise in supplying large numbers of personnel and
crews performing emergency operations in remote and urban areas
throughout the United States.
The members have provided mobile food and shower service
for wildfire fighting, emergency relief and recovery operations
following hurricanes during 2004 and 2005, and the space shuttle
Columbia recovery operation in 2003.
Since 2000 our members have provided millions of meals
and showered many thousands of personnel.
All member units have the
capability under an emergency situation to be on the road within
4 hours of receiving the notification.
Upon arrival at the emergency camp location the units can
be ready to begin preparing food and showering people within two
hours. Although
each unit’s maximum serving capacity varies, the range is from
1500 to 3200 personnel per day.
The kitchen and shower units are self sustaining with the
exception of water re-supply and gray water disposal.
Each kitchen unit arrives with a minimum of 200 gallons
of potable water and has a minimum gray water storage capacity
of 500 gallons; the kitchen unit also has covered, lighted,
seating for 200 persons for eating.
Some of the members have water re-supply vehicles, gray
water disposal vehicles and optional refrigeration trailers
available for hire separately.
